At Santova UK, our dedicated ocean freight team works closely with customers to deliver the most efficient shipping solutions tailored to their specific needs. We provide a variety of global ocean services, including Full Container Load (FCL), Less than Container Load (LCL), breakbulk, and RoRo for both imports and exports.

Our primary focus is on trade routes linking the UK with South Africa, North Africa, West and East Africa, the USA, the Middle East, the Far East, Asia, the Caribbean, and China. Through our strategic global network and partnerships with leading shipping lines, we offer competitive pricing along with industry-leading service.

Ocean Freight Container Ship

Full Container Loads (FCL)

An FCL shipment comprises a single container used exclusively for one consignee. The advantages of FCL shipments include:

  • Minimised risk of damage and loss
  • More efficient transit times
  • Streamlined delivery and receipt for both sender and recipient
  • Simplified customs clearance, reducing administrative delays
  • Lower freight costs per item due to optimized space utilization
  • Decreased lead times from reduced loading and unloading durations

Less than Container Load (LCL)

LCL shipments refer to cargo that doesn’t fill an entire container and typically includes multiple consignors’ cargo within one consolidated container. This option is ideal for customers with smaller import or export needs. Benefits of LCL include:

  • Cost-effective solution for smaller shipments, as charges are based on weight and volume
  • Regular shipping schedules, with weekly shipments arranged by Santova to various destinations

Consolidations

Consolidations involve combining shipments from multiple suppliers for one consignee, destined for the same location. Santova can merge these shipments into a single full container load at the origin, significantly lowering shipping costs due to increased volume.

Benefits include:

  • Faster transit times
  • Reduced costs as charges are streamlined
  • Optimized logistics processes

Cross Trade Services

Through our global offices and logistics partners, we facilitate cross-trade freight services aimed at reducing costs and lead times while maintaining control. This allows shipments to move directly between two countries without entering the UK.

Benefits include:

  • Reduced freight costs
  • Elimination of extra handling fees
  • Optimised logistics processes
  • Faster transit times
